Terms of use

These terms apply to your use of the ZeroFee website (zerofee.si), its apps ZeroFee Swap and ZeroFee Pay, its software and its API. By agreeing when the app asks, or by using any of them, you accept these terms. If you do not agree, do not use ZeroFee.

Version 2026-10-14b · last updated 2026-10-17

The short version

ZeroFee is software that helps you find and follow swaps and payments. Its servers never create, hold or touch a wallet or a key (the temporary wallets of privacy steps are made in your browser, and their keys stay there). It does not hold your money, cannot reverse a transaction, and does not give financial advice. Swaps are carried out by independent third parties and can fail or lose money. You use ZeroFee at your own risk, and you are responsible for the addresses you enter, for sending the exact amount to the deposit address, for following the law where you live, and for claims your use causes. Read the risk disclosure too.

1. What ZeroFee is

ZeroFee (“ZeroFee”, “we”, “us”), including ZeroFee Swap and ZeroFee Pay, is a web application: an outer shell that connects routing protocols and services together. It asks the routes that can issue a deposit address, shows you what each would cost and deliver, and follows the swap you choose. The protocol, not ZeroFee, issues a one-time deposit address, and you send the funds to it from any wallet or exchange. It can also make pay links (section 10). It is software, not a bank, exchange, broker or payment processor. Its servers never create, hold or touch a wallet or a key (privacy steps make temporary wallets in your browser, whose keys stay there), it does not hold, custody or control your funds, and swaps are carried out by third-party protocols and services, not by ZeroFee.

ZeroFee adds no fee of its own to a swap (a 0% platform fee). That does not mean a swap is free: third parties charge for routing, liquidity, network fees and exchange spreads, and these are shown before you start.

2. Who may use it, and lawful use

You must be at least 18 and old enough to enter a binding contract where you live, and you must be allowed by law to use the service. You alone are responsible for knowing and following the laws that apply to you, including sanctions, export, tax and reporting rules, and for checking whether you may use ZeroFee where you are.

You must not use ZeroFee if you are located in, or ordinarily resident in, a place subject to comprehensive sanctions or where its use is prohibited (such as Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, or the Crimea, Donetsk or Luhansk regions of Ukraine), or if you are named on a sanctions list (for example those kept by the United Nations, the United States, the European Union or the United Kingdom), or are owned or controlled by, or acting for, someone who is. You must not use a VPN or any other means to hide your location or get around these limits. You must not use ZeroFee for any unlawful purpose, including money laundering, evading sanctions, fraud or financing crime. Privacy features exist to protect lawful privacy and are not a way around the law.

3. Non-custodial: ZeroFee's servers hold no wallet or key

ZeroFee's servers never create, hold or touch a wallet or a key, and you never link a wallet to it. The temporary wallets a privacy step uses are made in your browser, and their keys stay there. The keys of the wallet or exchange you send from stay with you. We cannot access, recover, freeze or return your funds. Blockchain transactions are generally final and cannot be reversed by anyone. While a swap is in progress, third parties such as the routing protocol that issued the deposit address, and the instant exchanges of the Monero step (Exolix and ChangeNOW), hold the funds; ZeroFee does not.

4. Your responsibilities

  • Send the exact amount of the exact coin, on the right network, to the deposit address shown, with the memo or tag if one is shown. A different amount, coin or network, or a deposit sent after the address expires, can be delayed, refunded minus fees, or lost.
  • Check every chain, token, address, memo or tag and amount before you send. A wrong receiving address, refund address, chain or memo can mean permanent loss.
  • Keep the deposit address and tracking link from your swap’s page. This browser keeps a swap only while it runs and erases it when it finishes; that is the only copy, kept nowhere else, and clearing site data erases it sooner.
  • Read the quote: the route, the minimum you will receive, and every fee. Estimates can change before a swap completes.
  • Secure your own device, browser, wallets and exchange accounts. We cannot protect them.
  • Test with a small amount first, particularly with new features.
  • Work out and pay any taxes that apply to your activity.
  • Do not misuse the service: no attacks, no attempts to bypass rate limits or controls, and no automated use that degrades it for others.

5. Third-party services

ZeroFee connects to services we do not own or control: routing protocols such as NEAR Intents and Relay, instant exchanges, blockchains and the services that publish token lists and prices. Their availability, prices, rules and terms are theirs. They may delay, hold, refuse, or fail to complete a transaction, and they may require you to accept their own terms. We do not guarantee them, and we cannot make them refund or complete a swap. Information we show about them is a summary and may be out of date.

6. Changing features

Features can change. Some, including the privacy steps, are new. They can be incomplete, change or be withdrawn without notice, and may contain errors that cause loss. ZeroFee’s code has not been independently audited; see Security. We may change, suspend or end any part of the service at any time.

7. Quotes and fees

Quotes are estimates provided by third parties and are valid only briefly. The amount you receive can differ because prices move and fees change, within the slippage limit you set. Whether a swap uses a routing protocol or an exchange, you pay that party’s fees, which are part of the quote. None of them go to ZeroFee.

8. No advice

Nothing on ZeroFee is financial, investment, legal or tax advice, or a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any asset. Prices, rankings of routes and token information are informational. Digital assets, and new or low-liquidity tokens in particular, are volatile and risky. Make your own decisions, and get professional advice where you need it.

9. Privacy features have limits

ZeroFee’s privacy options reduce what some parties can see. They do not make you anonymous, and we make no promise that any swap cannot be traced. The limits are described in the Privacy protocols page.

10. Pay links and payments

ZeroFee can make a pay link: a URL that asks for an exact amount of a coin, paid to an address you give, which anyone can pay from another coin. ZeroFee is not a payment processor or payment gateway. It does not receive, hold or forward payments on anyone's behalf, keeps no merchant accounts, stores no links or payment records, and is not a party to any sale between a merchant and a payer. Payments are carried out by Relay or NEAR Intents (whichever asks the payer for less) from the payer's deposit, sent from any wallet or exchange, straight to the receiving address.

If you accept payments, you are responsible for confirming receipt at your own address, for any refunds, receipts or disputes with your payers, and for knowing whether you may accept crypto for what you sell and how it is taxed. A link can be paid more than once, and anyone who has it can see what it contains. If you pay a link, the refund address you give is where the route provider (Relay or NEAR Intents) returns a payment that cannot complete, and any unused part of the quoted amount. We do not guarantee that any payment completes, and we cannot reverse one.

11. You accept the risks

You understand and accept the risks of digital assets and of using ZeroFee, including: prices that move sharply; transactions that cannot be reversed; failure, exploit or shutdown of smart contracts, bridges, solvers, exchanges and blockchains; third parties that delay, hold or refuse a transaction; network congestion and fees; errors in ZeroFee's own software, which has not been independently audited; a wrong or lost deposit address, or lost browser data; and changes in law or regulation that affect your ability to use or hold digital assets. The risk disclosure describes these in more detail. You use ZeroFee entirely at your own risk.

12. No warranties

ZeroFee is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, availability, security and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful components, or that any swap will succeed.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, ZeroFee, its contributors and operators are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service. That includes loss of funds, profits, data or opportunity, and loss caused by third-party services, smart-contract or bridge failures, incorrect or stale quotes, market moves, user error, compromised devices or software defects. Where the law does not allow a limit or exclusion, it applies only as far as the law permits, and our other protections in this section still apply. In any case, our total liability to you for all claims together is limited to US$100.

14. Indemnity

You will defend, indemnify and hold harmless ZeroFee, its operators, contributors and affiliates against any claim, demand, loss, liability, cost or expense (including reasonable legal fees) that arises from your use of ZeroFee, any transaction you make or payment you accept with it, your breach of these terms, or your breach of any law or of anyone else's rights.

15. Disputes

If you have a dispute with us, you agree first to try to resolve it informally for 30 days. If that fails, any dispute arising from these terms or your use of ZeroFee will be settled by final and binding arbitration on an individual basis, not in court, except that either side may bring an individual claim in a small-claims court. You and we each give up any right to a jury trial and to bring, join or take part in a class, collective or representative action. These terms are governed by the law of, and any arbitration will be seated in, the place where ZeroFee's operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Where the law of the place you live gives you rights that cannot be waived (for example as a consumer), this section applies only as far as that law allows.

16. Software and licences

ZeroFee includes and depends on third-party software, each under its own licence. Those licences govern that software. These terms do not grant you any rights in third parties’ names, services or intellectual property.

17. The whole agreement

These terms, the Risk disclosure and the Privacy policy are the whole agreement between you and us about ZeroFee. If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a term straight away, we have not given it up.

18. Accepting and changing these terms

You accept these terms by ticking the boxes and choosing “Agree and enter” when the app asks, or by using the website, software or API. The app keeps a record of your acceptance and of the version you accepted in your browser only. We may update these terms. The version above shows the latest; when the terms change materially, the version changes and the app asks you again. If you keep using ZeroFee after a change, you accept the updated terms.
